About the Mozambique visa

Mozambique offers Indian Ocean beaches, the Bazaruto Archipelago, historic Ilha de Moçambique and the capital Maputo. Indian passport holders need prior authorisation to enter, which can be requested online.

Accommodation requirements depend on your visa type. A hotel booking or host address is the simplest way to meet them.

• Flights: Confirmed return or onward ticket showing your dates into and out of Mozambique.
• Accommodation: Hotel booking, tour voucher or your host's address and contact details in Mozambique.

• The far north (Cabo Delgado) is affected by conflict. Check advisories before travelling there.
• The Mozambican metical is the local currency.
• Check whether you need a yellow fever vaccination certificate for Mozambique or for your return to India, especially if you transit through East or Central Africa.
• Keep a printed copy of your approval and a digital copy on your phone. Airlines often check it at check-in for flights to Mozambique.
