About the Armenia visa

Armenia combines ancient monasteries such as Geghard and Tatev, the lively café culture of Yerevan and views of Mount Ararat. Indian passport holders can apply for an Armenian e-Visa online, so there is no need to visit an embassy.

Two validities are offered: a 21-day e-Visa for short holidays and a 120-day e-Visa for longer visits. The e-Visa is issued as a PDF that you print and show on arrival, mainly at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan.

Visa options, stays and fees are set by Armenia immigration and can change. We confirm the current options when you enquire.

Who can apply

  • You hold an Indian ordinary passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of arrival, with at least two blank pages.
  • You will enter through an entry point that accepts e-Visas, such as Zvartnots International Airport.
  • Your visit is short-term, such as tourism, a family visit or business meetings. Work, study and residence in Armenia need a different visa.

Accommodation requirement

Conditional

Conditional

A hotel booking may be replaced by an invitation, sponsor or host address, or may depend on the visa category.

When accommodation proof is needed, a refundable hotel booking is generally safer than a non-refundable booking.

Required documents

  • Passport: Clear colour scan of the bio-data page of your Indian passport, valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of arrival.
  • Photograph: Recent passport-size colour photo on a plain white background, as a digital file.
  • Flights: Confirmed return or onward ticket showing your dates into and out of Armenia.
  • Accommodation: Hotel booking, tour voucher or your host's address and contact details in Armenia.
  • Invitation (if visiting someone): Host details or an invitation if you are staying with friends or family in Armenia.

The exact document checklist for Armenia is set by its immigration authorities and can change. Contact VisaAdvisory for guidance specific to your trip, and verify on the official immigration or visa portal before payment or travel.

03

The application is filed through the official Armenian e-Visa portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the government fee is paid online.

04

Track the application

Processing for Armenia usually takes ~6–13 working days. Reply quickly if the authorities ask for more information.

05

Download and travel

Save and print the approval. Carry it with your passport and show it at check-in and at immigration.

Processing time

  • Typical time: ~6–13 working days after a complete application is submitted
  • Plan ahead: Apply at least 2–3 weeks before you fly to Armenia, and earlier during peak holiday seasons.

Before you travel

  • Armenia's land border with Turkey and Azerbaijan is closed. Most visitors arrive by air or overland from Georgia.
  • Georgia and Armenia combine well. If you plan both, check that your Georgian visa allows a re-entry if needed.
  • The Armenian dram is the local currency. Cards work well in Yerevan; carry cash for rural areas.
  • Keep a printed copy of your approval and a digital copy on your phone. Airlines often check it at check-in for flights to Armenia.
  • Travel insurance with medical cover is strongly recommended for every trip to Armenia.

Important notes

  • Fees and processing times are indicative and can change.
  • eVisa availability does not guarantee approval. The decision rests with the authorities of Armenia.
  • Requirements can change, so verify on the official immigration or visa portal before payment or travel.

FAQ

Armenia visa questions

What is the difference between the 21-day and 120-day Armenia e-Visa?

Only the length of stay and fee. Choose the 120-day option if there is any chance your trip will run longer than three weeks.

Can I get a visa on arrival in Armenia?

Visa on arrival is offered at main entry points, but an e-Visa approved before you fly avoids queues and uncertainty at the airport.

Do I need hotel bookings for the Armenia e-Visa?

Accommodation details are conditional. An address in Armenia is usually requested, and a hotel booking or host details are the simplest way to provide it.

How long does the Armenia visa take?

Usually ~6–13 working days once a complete application is submitted. It can take longer during busy periods or if extra checks are needed, so do not leave it to the last minute.

Is the Armenia visa fee refunded if the application is refused?

Government visa fees are generally non-refundable once an application has been submitted, whatever the outcome. Please read our refund policy for details on VisaAdvisory service fees.

Can VisaAdvisory guarantee my Armenia visa?

No. The decision rests with the authorities of Armenia. We help you submit a complete and accurate application, which avoids the most common causes of delays and refusals.
